High Court Practice

The High Courts exercise constitutional, civil, criminal, appellate and supervisory jurisdiction in accordance with the Constitution of India and applicable laws.

The firm undertakes matters before High Courts, including matters concerning constitutional remedies, civil and commercial disputes, criminal proceedings, regulatory matters, service matters, appeals, revisions and proceedings arising from orders of subordinate courts, tribunals and statutory authorities, as applicable to individual matters.

Constitutional and Writ Jurisdiction

Matters may include proceedings under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India concerning administrative action, fundamental or legal rights, jurisdictional issues, principles of natural justice and other constitutional matters. Such proceedings may include petitions seeking appropriate constitutional writs and remedies, including Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, Certiorari, Prohibition and Quo Warranto, as applicable.

Civil, Commercial and Regulatory Matters

The firm's High Court practice may include first and second appeals, civil revisions, injunction matters, property disputes, contractual claims, commercial disputes, company-law matters, shareholder disputes, insolvency-related proceedings, banking and financial disputes and challenges to decisions of statutory authorities and specialised tribunals. Matters may also concern taxation, regulatory and administrative law.

Criminal Proceedings

Matters may include regular and anticipatory bail applications, criminal appeals, revisions, petitions seeking quashing of criminal proceedings and other criminal remedies before the High Courts, including matters concerning procedural requirements and constitutional safeguards.

Service and Public Law Matters

The firm's practice may include service and employment matters concerning recruitment, promotion, disciplinary proceedings, pensionary benefits, service conditions and other issues involving government employees and public servants, as applicable.

Appellate and Tribunal Matters

Matters may include appeals, revisions and supervisory proceedings arising from civil and criminal courts, consumer commissions, commercial courts, arbitral proceedings, company-law forums, revenue authorities and other statutory bodies. Where applicable, matters may also involve consideration of further remedies before the Supreme Court of India, including Special Leave Petitions.

Pleadings and Legal Documentation

The firm's practice may include preparation and review of writ petitions, appeals, revisions, review petitions, interim applications, affidavits, written submissions and other pleadings and legal documents required in proceedings before the appropriate High Court.
